About Us

 

Behavioral Science Research Centre has started its activities since 1992 with the expression of research, knowledge development and mental health promotion by the department of psychiatry, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The initial approval received from Deputy of Ministry of Research, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. After acceptance of the Development council of this Ministry in 1999, under the supervision of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, the final approval was received.  Since its official activity, March 1999, this centre has been located next to the educational departments of psychiatric group of Nour Medical Centre in an area of approximately 400 square meters, which has a conference hall, classroom, journal section, research section and Internet department.

 

Vision of the Centre:

We strive to become one of the top poles of research in the field of behavioral sciences in the five next years, so that the statics of this centre can be cited in domestic and international forums. Also another of our five-year goals is to improve the services provided to patients with psychosexual disorders in order to reduce frequent referral, improving their ability to perform marital functions, and returning them to a high quality life. Therefore, we expect the Behavioral Sciences Research Centre to be the centre of studies and researches focused on biological, psychological, social, cultural, etc. dimensions in social behaviors and to provide solutions to prevent misbehavior in society.

Mission of the Center:

 

Behavioral Sciences Research Centre is affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, which in collaboration with domestic and foreign scientific centers, conduct continuous researches on behavioral disorders, in order to identify, treat and improve the suffering caused by these disorders in society.  In addition to the above, the centre offers the following activities for psychiatric disorders.

Educating of Psychiatric residents, students and physicians in different fields Holding domestic and international workshops, congresses and conferences Collaborate and explain the importance of Behavioral disorders and health economics for insurance organizations and NGOs Publication of quarterly magazines, books and educational materials.

 

Goals of the Center:

 

Development of applied researches in the field of Behavioral Sciences and using the results in order to promote healthy behaviors of people Improving the quantitative and qualitative level of researches related to the center’s research line Improving the provision of services to clients of behavioral sciences clinics and reducing the number of injuries caused by abnormal behaviors Active participation in the education and training specialized and efficient personnel in the above fields and guidance or residency and PHD and general medical doctoral dissertations in line with the center’s research priorities.
